Dopo l’Archivio storico Luce anche British Pathé ha deciso di rendere disponibile su You Tube, in alta risoluzione, l’intera collezione di cinegiornali, documentari e  girato (85.000 film ) prodotti dal 1896 al 1976. Il progetto è gestito dalla società tedesca Mediakraft , che creerà contenuti riusando il materiale. Ne dà notizia la società di produzione,  fondata a Parigi nel 1896 da Charles Pathé, un pioniere delle immagini in movimento. Con sede a Londra dal 1902, la società diede inizio nel 1910 alla produzione del cinegiornale bisettimanale Pathé Gazette,  nel 1930 erano sul mercato la Gazzetta , il Pathetone Weekly , la Pathé Pictorial e Film Review di Eva  (intrattenimento , cultura e questione femminile).

It is now considered to be the finest newsreel archive in existence. Spanning the years from 1896 to 1976, the collection includes footage – not only from Britain, but from around the globe – ofmajor events, famous faces, fashion trends, travel, sport and culture. The archive is particularly strong in its coverage of the First and Second World Wars.
